The cast for season 2 of House of The Dragon may gain a big name. The first Game of Thrones spin-off premiered on August 21 with more than
10 million viewers. In a short time, the series became the most watched premiere in HBO history.
The second episode even kept up the positive ratings, adding a 2% increase to the viewers of the launch.
With the renewal secured, House of The Dragon will further amplify the conflicts between the members of house Targaryen.
According to the website Giant Freakin Robot, Elizabeth Olsen is negotiating to join the cast of the series throughout the second season.
After airing three episodes, House of The Dragon has intensified the conflict between
members of the Targaryen family. Now, Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock and Emma D'Arcy) must defend
her position as heir to the Iron Throne. The events of the series are set about 200 years from Game of Thrones.
House Targaryen is still hegemonic in Westeros. However, internal disputes are expected to cause what George R. R.
Martin called the "Dance of the Dragons." That is, a civil war between family members.
So far, the audience has met names such as Viserys I, Otto Hightower, Daemon Targaryen, Corlys Velaryon and Alicent Hightower.
