He bought the social networking company for $44 billion (about $214 billion) 

on Monday (Apr. 25). Musk is known for advocating "free speech" on the 

platform and has criticized some of Twitter's measures in the past.

Following the purchase, Musk, who has nearly 84 million Twitter followers, posted "Free speech is the basis

of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square in which issues vital to the future of humanity will be debated."

"I also want to make Twitter better by equipping the product with new features, making 

algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating spam robots, and authenticating all humans.

His main enterprise, however, is Tesla, a company specializing in electric cars, energy storage, and solar panel

manufacturing. But Musk has also created Paypal (an online payment company) and other successful companies.
