Olivia Rodrigo returns to the studio and creates anticipation in fans
More than a year after the release of Sour (2021), Olivia Rodrigo has left fans with high expectations by showing up
The selfie taken by Olivia Rodrigo shows the two sitting on a couch, while Dan holds a guitar.
Although there is no caption or any official announcement, followers are betting that the singer must be working on new music.
In July, Olivia completed a string of almost 50 shows on the album promotion tour, which indicates that she must have a free agenda for new compositions.
In March, Olivia Rodrigo even talked about the expectations for her next work in an interview for Elle magazine.
"I'm definitely not as sad as when I wrote Sour," she explained. "I'm really excited to make my
next album and explore more colors and textures and feelings and grow even more as a human being. I'm really excited for that."
After the success of the single Drivers License, Olivia Rodrigo released Sour in May 2021. In it, she sang about the pains of
coming of age and love dramas (involving the romantic pair from High School Musical: The Series: The Musical, Joshua Bassett).
The success earned her seven nominations for the 2022 Grammy Awards. She won three categories: breakthrough artist, best pop solo performance, and best pop vocal album.
"I look back and think, 'Wow, I was so angsty. I think I was just accepting being a very young person
in the industry and feeling weird about it. But I don't think I feel that way anymore, which is good," she commented.
