Kenneth "Zoo" Petty, Nicki Minaj's husband, was sentenced to one year of house

arrest and three years of probation for failing to register as a sex offender.

As reported by CBS News, Petty was also ordered to pay a $55,000 fine.

Petty must register as a sex offender whenever he moves to a new city, following

a conviction he received in 1994 for attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl. At the time, he served about four and a half years in prison.

In September 2021, he pleaded guilty to the federal charge after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors for failing to register as a sex offender.

In March 2020, Petty was arrested again for failing to register as a sex offender in

California, however, he pleaded not guilty and posted $100,000 bail.In August 2021, Petty and Minaj were sued

by his wife, Jennifer Hough, who claimed that the couple "directly and indirectly

harassed her and threatened her not to talk about the incident." Minaj was dropped from the lawsuit in January 2022.
