Remember EthereumMax, that cryptocurrency promoted by big celebrities and athletes?

Well, nine investors do - and they are seeking to recover their investment from celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, by promoting a class action lawsuit.

Billionaire socialite Kim Kardashian is still fighting the lawsuit, which alleges that she promoted the token

accused of mounting a "pump and dump" scam. On Friday (29), her lawyers sent a request to a court in California to try to dismiss the charges against her.

"Pump and dump" is the term given to illegal, manipulative schemes that attempt to boost the price of an asset through false recommendations.

Promoters of these schemes already hold positions in the asset and, after the hype helps inflate the asset's

price, sell their allocations, causing the price to plummet and leaving investors who believed the "promise of utility" at a loss.
