Earlier this month, the 41-year-old SKIMS mogul advised women to "get off their fucking asses and work" in a Variety profile.

The comment was met with heavy criticism on social media, and even became a joke at the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday.

Now, Kardashian addresses the comment in an interview for Good Morning America, which will be included in an ABC special on the Kardashian-Jenner family airing April 6.

"Well, that statement I said was without questions and conversation around it," she told GMA co-host Robin Roberts.

"It became a sound bite without context. And that sentence came out of the notion and the previous question, which

attitude changed with the previous question going into that question about what advice would you give to women."

Kardashian then shared the real advice she intended to give during the interview.

"The advice I would give is simply that having a social media presence and being on a reality show doesn't mean

overnight success," she said. "You have to work hard to make it happen, even though it may seem like it's easy

and that you can build a successful business out of social media. And you can, if you work really hard."
