Things are going a different way with "Joker 2," with early reports revealing that the film
will be a musical and will feature actress and singer Lady Gaga in the role of Harlequin.
The information comes from The Hollywood Reporter, which revealed that Gaga is in early talks to play
Arlequina, starring in the project, which will be a musical, alongside Joaquin Phoenix's Joker - who has yet to
officially join the project according to THR. For now, none of this information has been confirmed by Warner Bros.
Just as Joaquin Phoenix's Joker is not the same as in other DC movies, such as Barry Keoghan's, Jared Leto's, or
even "Batman," the idea would be that Lady Gaga's version of Harlequine is totally separate from the one played brilliantly by Margot Robbie.
As for the film being a musical, no other details have been revealed, but Lady
Gaga's connection to the project makes a lot of sense if this is the goal. In addition, Todd Phillips was one of
the producers of "A Star is Born," the musical that earned Gaga a Best Actress Oscar nomination.
