Actress Jennette McCurdy's memoir, "I'm Glad My Mother Died," has been widely discussed in the media and on social networks because
of the revelations that the actress, who plays Sam in the iCarly series, has made about the behind-the-scenes of Nickelodean shows.
According to ET, the publication also showed that the actress had mixed feelings about
her castmate and "Sam & Cat" co-star Ariana Grande. The two starred in one season of the attraction that aired between 2013 and 2014.
In her book, McCurdy refers to Grande as "a burgeoning pop star" and says that she regularly missed filming as she had
commitments focused on her music career, such as recording songs, singing at awards shows, and preparing her next album.
Jennette reflects on the situation, saying that she didn't understand why Ariana was "allowed" while she supposedly wasn't entitled to the same luxuries.
"I had two job offers during iCarly that I had to turn down because the iCarly crew wouldn't spare me from the episodes to film them," McCurdy says.
She says that in the beginning Ariana would miss sporadic days of taping, but that she even missed an entire week of filming.
"The week I was told Ariana would not be here, and that they would write the episode around her absence, causing her character to be
locked in a box. Are you kidding me?" complained Jennette. "So I have to turn down movies while Ariana is singing at the Billboard Music Awards? F*ck you," she continued.
