Janet Jackson's Music Breaks Down Old Computers

Janet Jackson has caused headaches for owners

of older computers. The track "Rhythm Nation," released in 1989, can

cause laptops from the early 2000s to break, as

Microsoft software engineer Raymond Chen explained (via NME).

This happens because of a specific frequency emitted by the song.

"The song contains one of the natural resonant frequencies

of the 5400 rpm HD model that they

[a major unnamed manufacturer] and others used," he said.
