The funeral procession carrying Queen Elizabeth 2nd's coffin

departed this Sunday morning (9/11) from Balmoral Castle in Scotland to Edinburgh.

This was the beginning of the transport of the coffin across the country until the state funeral

scheduled for September 19, at Westminster Abbey in London.

Queen Elizabeth 2nd, 96, died on Thursday (Sept. 8) at Balmoral after more than 70 years of reigning.

From the windows of the hearse carrying the queen's coffin was a crown made of some of the queen's favorite flowers, grown in the gardens of her castle.

In the second car of the procession followed her daughter, Princess Anne, and her husband, Vice Admiral Tim Laurence.

Princess Anne will accompany the coffin on its journey to Edinburgh and then on its journey to London, scheduled for Tuesday (13/09).
