Avril Lavigne unveils star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
The recognition of a legacy! Avril Lavigne was duly honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday (31).
Celebrating 20 years of her career, since the release of her debut album, "Let Go", which became
a global pop culture landmark, the singer was joined by friends and even wore an iconic sweatshirt for her speech.
With this, she becomes the 2,731th artist to receive the honor. The ceremony was broadcast live on the institution's
digital platforms. The Canadian has sold over 40 million albums worldwide with 12.5
million units sold in the US alone. She has also collected eight Grammy Award nominations and impressive numbers over the years.
As she unveiled her star, Avril wore the same sweatshirt as when she first visited the venue when she was still a
teenager at the age of 16 in 1999. I feel very proud today to be on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Okay. When I was 16 I visited this
iconic place and took a picture, I was still in school. This was my favorite sweatshirt in school and I'm going to get into that vibe," she said as she put on the jacket.
